In summer guests can cool down in the resort's fenced-in saltwater swimming pool, or visit Oudtshoorn's olympic standard municipal pool next to the resort.

KAROO GARDEN

One of Oudtshoorn's former mayors, Mr N.A. Smit, after whom the resort was named, established a spectacular Karoo Garden with rare succulent plants in the resort. After his death the garden was badly neglected, until the resort came under new management in 2002. An extensive process to restore the garden to its former glory was initiated recently.
